During the regular meeting, the
Faculty of Science and Scientific Committees in all scientific departments
confirmed that the nature of the academic study of the master s and doctorate
students is according to the American system of postgraduate studies. This
system includes a full academic year in which the student receives all the
theoretical lectures related to the general and specific subject of their study,
Followed by a general exam of theoretical materials as well as a comprehensive
theoretical exam for doctoral students at the end of the academic year. Depending
on the exam results, the student is qualified to start the practical part,
which includes a full research year for the master s students and two years for
the doctoral students. Following the practical part, the postgraduate students
presents and discusses their results and the scientific methods, depend on in
their project, by writing a master s thesis or doctoral dissertation which also
provide a detailed and accurate review of the previous studies published in the
same research area. When student accomplished the thesis writing, the college
and scientific department arrange a public discussion for the student in the
presence of internal and external examiners in the same research area and from
different universities. Based on the decision of the discussion committee, the
student is awarded a master s and doctoral degree
