Giardia lamblia (trophozoite)
Typical characteristics

_shape:pear /tear drop
_nuclei :two ovoid_shaped,aech with a large karyosme,no peripheral chromatin
_Flagella: four pair,origination of each:
One pair anterior end
One pair posterior end
Two pair center laterally
_other stractuers: two median bodies
Two axonemoes, sucking disc

Typical characteristics
_size range :8_17 mm longe
6_10 mm wide
_shape : ovoid
_ nuclei: immature cyst 2
Mature cyst 4
Central karyosome
No peripheral chromatin
_ other strctures: median bodies, two or foure interior flagellars strctures
_ Nuclei : one, with large central karyosome , no peripheral chromatin


Class 3: Ciliates

Balantidium coli (trophozoite)
Typical characteristics
_size range : 28 _125 mm longe
22 _ 123 mm wide
_ Number nuclei : two: kidney shaped macronucleus smale spherical micronucleus
_ Other strectures: one to two visible contractile vacuoles food vacuoles , may contain bacteria, large of cilia around organism

Balantidium coli (cyst)
Typical characteristics
_ size range:43_66 mm
_ Number of nuclei : two:kidney shaped macronucleus, usually present and small spherical micronucleus may not be observable
_ Other structures: one to two visible contractile vacuoles in young cyst double cyst wall
